You will drive low-latency data ingestion, processing, and delivery to analysts and coaches, while providing technical direction for frontend collaboration (React/TypeScript) and data contracts.

The role emphasizes design for real-time streams, event-driven architectures, and 24/7 reliability, with leadership

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering background with production experience in Java.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).
• Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving scope.
• Frontend review experience with React/TypeScript, not delivery.
• Experience designing and evolving API contracts (OpenAPI).
• Proven ability to build low-latency, high-throughput systems.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Familiarity with cloud IAM approaches (e.g., AWS Cognito) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect backend systems and APIs with a focus on latency and throughput for real-time data.
• Lead data pipelines from ingestion to delivery across platforms.
• Develop and maintain event-driven processing using Kafka and cloud services.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to align data contracts and UI needs.
