BWB Consulting is seeking a Principal Highways Engineer (Associate level) to lead major highways projects and partner with Highways England and clients across the UK. You will oversee design delivery, mentor engineers, and shape multi‑disciplinary solutions within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Strong technical independence with Civil 3D and MicroDrainage; OpenRoads or PDS experience welcomed with upskilling willingness.
• Confidence liaising with clients, consultants and project managers.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate, influence and grow relationships.
• Hands-on leadership style; responsible for technical solutions while mentoring others.
• Excellent communication; adapt style for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design of public highways — geometry, drainage, pavements and more.
• Use engineering judgement to tackle problems and keep projects moving.
• Mentor and inspire graduates and engineers to grow the team.
• Collaborate across disciplines to bring multi‑dimensional projects to life.
• Work with developers, contractors, and local authorities; build strong partnerships.
