Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom seeks a Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer to lead the design, assessment and rehabilitation of earth embankment dams and reservoir infrastructure. You will drive technical excellence, manage delivery, and engage clients on flagship dam projects.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, perform advanced geotechnical analyses with industry tools, and mentor engineers while contributing to asset resilience and dam safety reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a recognised institution.
• Extensive experience in geotechnical engineering consultancy or major infrastructure delivery.
• Experience in design, assessment and rehabilitation of earth dams and reservoir embankments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and manage project delivery for dam and reservoir projects.
• Lead geotechnical assessments for earth embankments, reservoirs and flood defences.
• Oversee reporting, calculations, specifications and design documentation.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to capability development.
