Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Edinburgh is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a private multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. The role covers ground investigation and design, with a focus on foundations, earthworks, retaining structures and slope stability.

You will work across projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technical reports. The ideal candidate will have strong UK consultancy experience, a degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, chartered status

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Strong UK consultancy experience across investigation and design.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage ground investigations and interpret geotechnical data.
• Develop ground models and produce technical reports; design foundations, earthworks and slope stability.
• Support junior staff and contribute to project delivery.
