Job summary

Anaplan Inc in Manchester is seeking a versatile Principal Software Engineer to lead GenAI initiatives across frontend and backend services, delivering scalable AI-powered planning features.

You will architect and implement comprehensive GenAI solutions, mentor engineers, and work with product teams to translate ambitious roadmaps into production-ready systems that power enterprise planning for 2,400+ global customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional software engineering experience in senior or principal roles.
• Hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and scaling agentic AI workflows and GenAI features.
• Proficiency in React/TypeScript frontend and backend languages Python, Java/Kotlin, or Node.js.
• Deep understanding of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and MCP services.
• Observability, logging, and performance monitoring across distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with product and design teams.
• Hands‑on experience with agent orchestration frameworks and enterprise platforms.
• Experience in Enterprise Performance Management or enterprise SaaS environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deploy scalable GenAI solutions and autonomous AI agents.
• Build end-to-end GenAI features including backend services and tools.
• Design MCP servers and services exposing backend data to AI workflows.
• Guide full‑stack development of frontends (React/TypeScript) and backends (Python/Java/Kotlin/Node.js).
• Establish LLM observability, evaluations, and caching.
• Champion high availability and performance across microservices.
• Mentor engineers and translate product visions into technical roadmaps.
