Job summary

Anaplan is seeking a senior/principal engineer to lead the architecture of its Predictive Intelligence engineering team in Salford, UK. You will own the overall architecture and technical strategy for forecasting and ML services, guiding platform initiatives across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with data scientists, and drive engineering best practices to ensure scalable, observable, and production‑ready systems across multiple products.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in software engineering at senior or principal/architect level aimed at large-scale systems.
• Deep expertise in Python and building high-availability production ML services.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating data/analytics platforms (Snowflake, Iceberg, Trino, Postgres).
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes and major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), including multi-cloud familiarity.
• Demonstrated experience with MLOps tooling (model registries, experiment tracking, CI/CD).
• Proven track record leading architectural strategy across multiple teams and services.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical strategy for predictive intelligence services across multiple verticalized solutions.
• Drive unified architectural patterns, reduce duplication, and create shared primitives for forecasting and data processing.
• Provide hands-on design and implementation leadership for major features and platform initiatives.
• Define and oversee MLOps strategy spanning training, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management on Kubernetes across cloud providers.
• Establish engineering best practices for scalability, fault tolerance, observability, and operational excellence.
• Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with data scientists to accelerate production readiness of research.
