Job summary

The Bermuda Monetary Authority is seeking a Principal in its Supervision (Banking, Trust, Corporate Services and Investment) Department to lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the on-site and off-site supervision of licensed institutions across several Acts.

Reporting to an Assistant Director, the postholder will apply risk-based analysis, develop supervisory plans, oversee remediation efforts, contribute to regulatory policy, and represent the Authority at committees and external

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Bachelor's with professional designation as listed.
• Minimum seven (7) years of postgraduate experience; at least three years at senior level in financial services regulator or banking/trust sectors.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and supervisory skills.
• Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team for on-site and off-site supervision of licensed institutions and groups.
• Perform risk-based analysis to determine annual supervisory plans and minimum regulatory requirements.
• Monitor remediation progress and close issues identified via supervision.
• Contribute to regulatory policy development for the financial services industry.
• Apply risk-based models to allocate supervisory resources and ensure objectives.
• Liaise with industry bodies and overseas regulators; represent the Authority on committees and at seminars.
• Manage staff development and training; perform other related work as assigned.
