An established industry player is seeking a dedicated individual to lead its environmental health team. This role offers a unique opportunity for both experienced managers and those looking to step into management. You will oversee key areas such as food safety and pollution control, supported by a friendly team that values individual contributions. The position promises professional growth, a supportive environment, and an attractive salary package, including benefits like subsidized parking and pension eligibility. If you're ready to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a convenient commute, we encourage you to apply.
Are you looking for a chance to lead a busy team where individual contributions are valued?
At Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, we are a friendly employer with an opening for an individual to lead our small environmental health team in the key areas of food safety, private sector housing, pollution control, and health and safety.
This role would suit an experienced manager or someone looking to take their first step into a managerial career, where you will be supported to learn new skills while practicing those gained elsewhere.
Since the role is intended to be the Council’s lead officer for food, a strong background in this subject area would be an advantage, but we are willing to consider candidates who can quickly achieve competence in this area and may have skills in other areas of environmental health.
Although our team is small, we support each other to achieve more than our size might suggest, and we are not afraid to enforce regulations when necessary.
If you are looking to broaden your career or seeking an easier commute, we welcome your interest and look forward to your application.
In return, we offer excellent office accommodation five minutes’ walk from Epsom railway station, heavily subsidised parking if needed, an attractive salary, performance-related pay, CIEH subscription fees, and eligibility to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is an equal opportunities employer.
