Role overview:

We seek a principal environmental consultant to focus on environmental assessments for energy projects in the UK, including nuclear, networks, and energy transition sectors, with opportunities to work internationally.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead UK EIAs for energy projects, including DCO applications.
2. Conduct due diligence for various energy projects.
3. Coordinate specialist inputs and collaborate with engineering teams.
4. Mentor junior staff and ensure quality assurance.
5. Manage projects, build client relationships, and oversee sub-consultants.
6. Prepare proposals for new projects.

Candidate requirements:

Essential:

• Fluent in English.
• Degree and Master’s in an environmental field.
• Extensive UK energy project experience (transmission, nuclear, hydrogen, solar, hydro, wind).
• Experience with DCO applications.
• Strong document review and communication skills.
• Understanding of energy project technicalities.
• Ability to travel.
• Leadership and proposal experience.
• Membership of a professional institute.

Desirable:

• Specialist environmental expertise and broader environmental/social awareness.
• Experience with options appraisals, due diligence, environmental permitting, and town planning.
