Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Leeds is seeking a Principal Engineering Geologist to lead geotechnical design and ground investigations. The role involves overseeing a team, planning site investigations, interpreting data, and producing detailed reports for diverse projects across residential, commercial, infrastructure and energy sectors.

The ideal candidate has strong geotechnical design experience, a relevant degree, chartership or progress toward it, and full rights to work in the UK.

As a Principal Engineering Geologist, you will take on a varied role combining geotechnical design and ground investigation. The Principal Engineering Geologist will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team, planning and supervising site investigations, interpreting ground data, and producing high-quality reports. The Principal Engineering Geologist will also contribute to foundation design, earthworks, slope stability, and ground movement assessments, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in geotechnical design and/or ground investigation
• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology or related field
• Ability to manage projects and deliver technical reports
• Have or be working towards chartership
• Full UK driving licence
• Full right to work in the UK
• Must live in or near to Leeds or be able to commute
