Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking a Principal Engineer (Design Services) based in Raynesway, Derby, to lead on technical design for a variety of waste and water infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with framework design consultants, manage contracts and drive innovative, safe, and sustainable design solutions.

You will guide design development, QA processes and collaboration among hydraulic modellers, designers, internal stakeholders and the wider supply chain to achieve optimal outcomes and

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer with chartered or near-chartered status.
• Experience in Water/Utility sector preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Valid UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, write and manage multiple service orders for professional design services.
• Facilitate communication between sponsors, designers, planners and stakeholders.
• Guide the design process and ensure alignment with programme requirements and safety standards.
• Identify, assess and manage risks across design, construct and operational phases.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and the wider supply chain for project alignment.
• Support governance through Severn Trent's gated process and provide direction at gates.
