We are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen (Hybrid working). This role involves strengthening our capabilities within the developing energy mix, where both technical and commercial risks are prominent. Our consultancy provides broad, multi-faceted advice to clients, and we aim to grow our team with individuals who are technically, consultatively, and commercially minded to support a just and orderly energy transition.

What will you be doing?

Leading structural and civil engineering activities, including:

• Performing structural engineering and analysis during feasibility, concept design, and pre-FEED phases.
• Preparing and finalizing structural reports.
• Developing structural philosophies and conceptual MTOs/quantities.
• Delivering technical presentations.
• Contributing structural input to proposals.

We think you should have:

• A university degree in civil or structural engineering or relevant education, with over 15 years of postgraduate experience in front-end or FEED projects.
• Extensive experience in the offshore oil & gas and renewable energy sectors.
• Experience in designing jackets and topsides (greenfield/brownfield).
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAADPro and SESAM.
• Knowledge of design software like E3D, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of non-linear analysis software such as Abaqus is advantageous.
