Job Title: Principal Electrical Power Engineer

Location: Barrow-In-Furness (Hybrid) – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
• Authoring and reviewing technical documentation
• Managing associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
• Providing advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines
• Engaging with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems
• Leading and mentoring junior team members through the systems definition process
• Travel opportunities across the UK to various BAE, customer, and supplier sites

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
• Engineering Chartership or significant progress towards it
• Extensive knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Permanent Magnet Motors/Generators

The Steam Integrated Design Team (IDT):

As a Principal Electrical Power Engineer, you will be part of a new team working on innovative technologies for the British Navy, focusing on Turbo Generators. Relocation support packages are available for eligible candidates.
