Job description

Stantec's reputation as a water industry leader isn't just about past successes. We constantly push boundaries, delivering forward-thinking solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients across the UK water industry.

As a result of our growing workflow, Stantec are actively seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our growing Water Sector in the South. Working from our office in London, Reading or High Wycombe, you will grow our reputation within the local community and Water Business, by providing EICA design services for a range of projects.

We are excited by our growth prospects and this is a good opportunity to join an experienced and ambitious team who will provide you with plenty of support and opportunities for career progression.

The successful candidate will be involved in the whole project life cycle from optioneering through to detailed design and installation. You will also be involved with feasibility studies, site surveys, and investigations.

As an experienced EICA Engineer, you will hold responsibility for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community. You will understand how water treatment processes operate and be experienced in assessing the existing electrical and ICA infrastructure to develop and deliver the EICA design. We would also be interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within the energy, infrastructure & environmental sectors in an electrical engineering capacity.

Stantec provide a number of opportunities to learn and develop from colleagues across the whole UK business. As a Senior EICA Engineer, you will help develop the team by acting as a mentor, line manager, or guide to less experienced members within the team.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an experienced Electrical Engineer with a Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related subject. You will ideally be Chartered or Incorporated with experience of EICA design.

You will be experienced in writing technical specifications, control philosophies, schedules, reports and be familiar with collaborative reviews and designs of solutions.

You will be able to produce Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Network Infrastructure Diagrams as well as providing engineering input to collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication skills to give technical presentations to clients and other design engineers as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions including technical workshops, HAZOPs, and ALMs.

Experience in the Water sector is an advantage but we would also be interested in speaking with candidates with experience in the energy, infrastructure & environmental sectors.
