Job summary

AFRY is seeking an experienced engineer to join its Energy Division in the UK. You will provide technical guidance across feasibility studies, FEED and owner’s engineer services for LV–HV electrical infrastructure in power projects.

You will lead design reviews, prepare drawings and technical reports, and support health and safety, risk management and business development. Some travel is required; Chartered status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree in electrical engineering.
• Chartered status or working towards Chartered.
• Extensive LV to HV industrial electrical infrastructure knowledge.
• Good knowledge of British and international standards.
• Fluency in business English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise to solve project challenges.
• Provide design reviews and technical comments on designs.
• Deliver conceptual, preliminary and detailed design outputs (drawings, specs, cost estimates, schedules).
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence, calculations and sketches.
• Attend factory and site acceptance tests.
• Monitor and inspect site construction activities.
• Identify health & safety, sustainability and commercial risks and mitigate them.
• Support business development and bids; mentor younger engineers.
