Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer (Building Services) to lead delivery of complex UK building projects from Birmingham, London or Manchester. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, cost and quality, and mentor engineers while shaping design decisions and client communications.

The role requires strong knowledge of Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Dialux and Amtech, plus a solid grasp of UK building regulations and sustainable technology integration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech and building regulation compliance assessments.
• MCIBSE / MIET C Eng accreditation (or actively working towards it).
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations.
• Experience in sustainable technology integration.
• Proven project leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent technical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the functional delivery of projects, often multidisciplinary, ensuring scope, time, cost and quality expectations are met.
• Mentor staff, support team development, and contribute to resource planning and continuous improvement.
• Own your work and guide others from planning to calculation checks and high-quality outputs.
• Manage scope, fees, and client communications to identify value-added opportunities.
• Represent Jacobs in client meetings and help win future work.
