Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to provide authoritative technical leadership across UK water and wastewater projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, transform complex requirements into practical, compliant designs, and support bids while promoting safety, sustainability and engineering excellence.

You will lead design activities, mentor engineers and collaborate with clients, contractors and suppliers to ensure high-quality outcomes across the project

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
• Significant experience delivering electrical design solutions in the UK water and wastewater sector.
• Strong knowledge of LV and HV power distribution and control systems.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design projects.
• Desirable Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate delivery of complex electrical designs within water and wastewater sectors.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop innovative, practical, and risk-balanced engineering solutions.
• Ensure designs are safe, compliant and cost-effective.
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Support major bids and project delivery strategies.
• Mentor engineers and maintain engineering governance and quality.
• Balance programme, cost, quality and resources across projects.
• Identify and manage technical risks and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and suppliers to meet objectives.
