Job summary

RED Engineering Design, part of Tractebel, seeks a fully experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer (RED Specialist Services) to be based in London or Newcastle. The role leads large projects, coordinates electrical and mechanical services, and ensures compliance with standards and customer requirements.

Ideal候補 includes Chartered Engineer status in progress, extensive design experience for multiple building types, and strong MS Office/ calculation software skills.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng or degree in appropriate engineering discipline or have sufficient equivalent experience
• MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND plus appropriate experience or equivalent
• Working towards Chartered Eng status
• Significant experience of specification design for several building types
• Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
• Knowledge of MS Office applications Word, Excel etc
• Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
• Good understanding of BS standards/ UK Regulations/Codes
• Ability to prioritise own workload
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Managerial skills
• Presentation skills
• Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective
• Background in consulting or construction preferred
• Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy
• Act in an ethical manner and follow the ethics framework of the Group

Responsibilities

• Running large projects and taking lead on delivery
• Client-facing role for development, design and coordination of services for building projects
• Develops and specifies controls, instruments and operating systems for building services
• Surveys, tests and dilapidation reports on existing installations
• Ensures compliance with specifications, standards and customer requirements
• Acts as liaison with clients and project teams during meetings
• Directs engineering calculations and drawings to meet standards
• Leads coordination of engineering services across disciplines
• Applies holistic engineering concepts and solutions across projects
