Job summary

AECOM Cardiff is seeking a Principal EIA Consultant to lead environmental impact assessments, drive quality, and manage complex projects from concept to consent. The role blends technical leadership with client liaison and mentoring across our national team.

Based in Cardiff with hybrid working, you will collaborate with technical experts, oversee feasibility, scope, and delivery, and help grow our environmental services by building strong stakeholder relationships and winning new opportunities.

What the role involves

• Ensure Quality: Your role requires a critical eye for detail to ensure that our deliverables are produced to the highest quality standards and compliance with our rigorous quality.
• Project Management: Make effective use of your project management skills, appropriately managing resources and budgets (with support as applicable).
• Client Contact: Your role will require the management of client relationships and internal supply teams.
• Lead business development opportunities and associated fee and technical proposal development.
• Growth: You will promote AECOM’s environmental services to both internal and external audiences. You will identify.

Skills and requirements

• Experience of providing consultancy services.
• An excellent understanding of the EIA processes, environmental assessment methods and applicable planning legislation.
• A detailed understanding of relevant consenting and licensing regimes.
• Confidence when engaging with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.
