Job summary

Stantec in the UK&I energy sector is seeking a Principal Designer and CDM Advisor to guide clients through CDM 2015 compliance and design coordination across major projects.

The role combines technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and delivering innovative solutions while supporting sustainable construction practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction, health and safety, or engineering is required.
• Chartered status and NEBOSH or equivalent qualifications preferred.
• Experience in a consultancy environment with mentoring capability.
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and design coordination.

Responsibilities

• Act as CDM Advisor to support clients on projects under CDM 2015.
• Maintain deep understanding of design and construction processes and coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

As Principal Designer and CDM Advisor, responsibilities under CDM 2015 include:

• Acting as CDM Advisor to support clients.
• Maintaining a deep understanding of design and construction processes.
• Communicating effectively and ensuring compliance with CDM and other relevant legislation.

About You

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in construction, health and safety, or engineering. Chartered status and additional health and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience in a consultancy environment with the ability to coach and mentor junior team members and collaborate across the business.
• Skills: Strong understanding of innovative solutions and industry best practices, with experience managing projects from concept to completion and in-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
