Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Designer and CDM Advisor to help deliver safe, compliant design and construction across the UK&I energy sector. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on project oversight.

You will coach junior staff, apply CDM 2015 requirements, and collaborate across disciplines. A relevant degree, Chartered status and NEBOSH are preferred, with a strong commitment to sustainability and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in construction, health and safety, or engineering.
• Chartered status and NEBOSH qualifications preferred.
• Consultancy experience with ability to coach and mentor junior team members and collaborate across the business.
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

As Principal Designer and CDM Advisor, responsibilities under CDM 2015 include:

• Acting as CDM Advisor to support clients.
• Maintaining a deep understanding of design and construction processes.
• Communicating effectively and ensuring compliance with CDM and other relevant legislation.

About You

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in construction, health and safety, or engineering. Chartered status and additional health and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience in a consultancy environment with the ability to coach and mentor junior team members and collaborate across the business.
• Skills: Strong understanding of innovative solutions and industry best practices, with experience managing projects from concept to completion and in-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
