Job summary

CoMind, a pioneer in non-invasive neuromonitoring, seeks a Principal Data Scientist to define methodological direction for signal processing and ML, and to drive the most complex, high-impact problems from research to production.

You will lead technical strategy, set standards for uncertainty handling, and collaborate across R&D, Clinical and Software Eng.) All team members work from our Kings Cross office at least four days a week with one flexible remote day, contributing to cutting-edge brain

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience leading data science, ML or applied research on complex problems.
• Experience extracting signals from noisy physiological systems and deploying physical models.
• Deep expertise in physiological time-series signal processing methods.
• Proven ability to translate research concepts into production-quality, shipped implementations.
• Experience designing device evaluation methods, simulations, sensitivity analyses, and failure modes.
• Track record of scientific output: publications, patents, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for end-to-end signal processing and inference for CoMind technologies.
• Set methodological direction for estimation, signal extraction and ML across the team and evaluate approaches.
• Own signal processing programmes from research through production-quality implementations with Software Engineering.
• Derive performance bounds from instrument models to guide design trade-offs.
• Own how uncertainty and calibration are handled, including per-patient estimation with quantified uncertainty.
• Set standards for reproducibility, analysis and code review, experiment design and dataset governance.
• Review technical reports, evaluation methodology, and maintain scientific integrity across the team.
• Introduce best-practice methods from estimation and measurement science in adjacent fields.
• Mentor Data Science team members and contribute to broader business knowledge.
• Contribute to IP and publication strategy, including technical papers and regulatory documents.
