Talos seeks a Principal Engineer, Data Quality Platform to own data correctness across our systems. You will lead the data quality engineering team, run BAU data operations, and own reference and security master data, along with the pipelines and platform that deliver it.

You will challenge product engineering, validate API correctness across REST/WebSocket endpoints, and shape resilience, load testing, and governance across a distributed data platform.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of streaming and API behavior: throughput, WebSocket semantics, ordering, recovery and failure modes.
• Experience inventorying and testing a large API and data surface end to end.
• Hands-on experience with data governance: cataloging, lineage, ownership.
• Experience with performance and load testing of distributed systems.
• A strong engineering background; build on shared infrastructure, not scripts.
• Practical experience applying LLM and agentic tooling to engineering problems.
• Our stack includes Flink, Doris, Dagster, Spark and OpenMetadata (or Atlas).

Responsabilités

• Own data correctness across Talos and lead the data quality engineering team.
• Run BAU data operations and manage reference and security master data.
• Test assumptions of product engineering by challenging them with evidence.
• Define and execute tests for resilience, load and failure modes.
• Build and maintain data asset catalogs with lineage and downstream impact.
• Develop and deploy data governance tooling and platforms.
