Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Cyber Security Engineer to be part of our NBCU Consumer Product Security team. This role involves partnering with Global Streaming Technology and Cyber Security organizations to ensure secure design and deployment of technology, aligned with enterprise strategies.

The successful candidate will conduct end-to-end security and threat analysis of enterprise initiatives involving new or modified technology deployments, ensuring adherence to Information Security best practices. They will serve as a technical expert across various Cyber Security domains, including network, application, cloud, and enterprise security controls, collaborating with stakeholders to provide security guidance and mitigation strategies.

Effective communication of cybersecurity initiatives to business stakeholders to garner support and trust is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience partnering with business and technical teams to architect and deliver cybersecurity solutions.
• Expertise in threat mitigation across multiple technical areas such as Perimeter Security, Application Security, Core Systems, EDR, Cloud, etc.
• Deep understanding of Threat Modeling and managing security risks in large-scale systems like streaming platforms and content delivery networks.
• Knowledge of security principles in SDLC and secure coding practices.
• Experience with consumer-facing applications, especially in streaming media or digital services.
• Familiarity with Cloud Services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and associated risks.
• Ability to explain threats to network, cloud, web, and application components.
• Collaborative skills to ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated throughout project phases.
• Knowledge of industry best practices such as OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25, CIS controls, and NIST guidelines.
• Advanced technical expertise in at least one cybersecurity area.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in developing security guidelines, best practices, and architecture diagrams.
• Excellent time management for handling multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant experience prioritized over formal degree.
• Understanding of data/privacy regulations like PCI DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity Engineering, Incident Response, and GRC functions.
• Ability to balance security policies with operational needs.
