Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer within the Nuclear, Defence and Civil division in the UK to lead design analyses and client relationships across projects from concept to completion. The role emphasizes FE analysis, governance, and mentoring junior staff.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, deliver high quality calculations and bids, and ensure compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes.

Qualifications

• Chartership with IStructE or ICE is essential.
• Extensive post-graduate experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Detailed understanding of finite element analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis with verification and validation.
• Review analysis work of team members.
• Develop and mentor junior staff.
• Produce design calculations and supporting documentation.
• Lead analysis teams on projects and bids.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
• Attend sites or offices for surveys and meetings.
• Ensure delivery against client expectations and standards.
• Support concept to completion design within nuclear sector.
