Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer to join the Nuclear Defence and Civil division within the Energy unit. You will contribute to design activities, mentor junior team members, and lead projects from concept to completion across the civil/nuclear sector.

You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, build client relationships, and support bids and estimates while ensuring compliance with BS and Eurocodes. UK security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Chartership with the Institution of Civil or Structural Engineers.
• Detailed understanding of Finite Element Analysis and software.
• Experience leading and managing projects from concept to completion.
• Experience in the design of concrete and steel structures.
• Strong knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis with verification and validation.
• Review analysis produced by other team members.
• Develop the skills of junior staff.
• Produce and review design calculations supporting analysis.
• Produce high quality documentation for project stages.
• Lead analysis teams on projects.
• Lead bids and estimates preparation.
• Collaborate across disciplines and communicate with project stakeholders.
• Attend site visits or meetings as required.
