Job summary

Egis is expanding its UK water practice and seeks a Principal Civil Engineer to shape drainage and flood risk solutions. You will lead civil design across multiple projects, mentor staff, and engage clients through workshops and reviews.

Ideal candidates hold a BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering and are Chartered (CEng) or ICE member, with a proven leadership track in the UK water sector.

Qualifications

• UK civil engineering degree with Chartered status or equivalent.
• Strong leadership across design lifecycle from appraisal to delivery.
• Experience in water sector and regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Own civil scope within multidisciplinary delivery and drive decisions.
• Develop surface water drainage strategies and SuDS design.
• Lead flood risk appraisal, feasibility, and optioneering work.
• Mentor team members and fulfill CDM Principal Designer duties as needed.
• Engage clients, run workshops, and build long-term relationships.
