Job summary

Penguin Recruitment seeks a Principal Civil Engineer in Ringwood to lead infrastructure projects across the UK. The role anchors to the Ringwood office with hybrid working, supporting major residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.

The candidate will oversee highways, drainage and external works design, drive technical quality, mentor teams, and liaise with clients and authorities while shaping standards within a dynamic consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience delivering development infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and drainage design software (MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage).
• Chartered status or progression toward accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review highways, drainage and external works designs.
• Deliver S38, S278, S104 and S98 schemes through approval and construction.
• Produce and review drainage strategies, SuDS and pumping station designs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and manage technical risk.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and contractors.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and drive technical quality across teams.
