Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer I to lead CI/CD and platform engineering productivity in the UK. You will define roadmaps, mitigate release risks, and scale security across teams while guiding engineers to deliver reliable, secure software at speed.

You will own multidisciplinary initiatives, mentor peers, and stay hands-on where it adds leverage, balancing strategic architecture with practical execution to help Elastic ship faster and more securely.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in CI/CD and hardening release pipelines against supply chain attacks.
• Strong debugging instincts across the full pipeline from test runner to cluster deployment.
• Experience directing work across multiple teams on multi-quarter initiatives.
• Ability to review code, mentor engineers and still contribute through hands-on work when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Define the roadmap and technical vision for CI/CD and enable org-wide adoption.
• Identify bottlenecks, friction points, or security risks and drive remediation.
• Design and enforce release gates for supply chain integrity and release readiness.
• Direct engineers on multi-quarter projects, breaking down architecture and owning outcomes.
