Job summary

Hawk-Eye Innovations seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead C++ development in the Cloud Video Framework. The role involves building scalable video processing platforms and low-latency media tools for live sports, working within a fast-paced team.

Hybrid working arrangement applies: 2 days in the office, with global locations in the UK and Hungary. You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, and collaborate with product teams on high-impact deployments.

Qualifications

• Proficient in modern C++ (up to C++20) and multithreaded development.
• Experience with networking (TCP/IP) and streaming protocols.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and video encoding workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engineer next-generation Video Review solutions across multiple sports disciplines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement components for Video Review.
• Participate in field testing and support deployments at live sporting events.
• Partner with product teams and customers to refine and deliver solutions.
• Champion high code quality and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural and design decisions.
• Mentor and line-manage engineers.
