Job summary

NRL in Perthshire, Scotland, is seeking a Principal Bridge Engineer to lead site supervision and contract administration on a major highway scheme. This full-time, site-based role is for an initial 12-month contract with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil Engineer with site-based bridge experience.
• Extensive highway bridge construction and contractor supervision experience.
• Strong experience monitoring quality systems and contractor claims.
• Experience assisting Employer's Representative and contract administration.
• Exposure to measure and value, design and build contracts.
• Experience supervising steel/cable‑supported structures (beneficial).
• NEC4 Supervisor qualification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide site supervision for bridge construction on a major highway scheme.
• Monitor contractors' quality systems and ensure works meet standards.
• Assess, advise on and negotiate contractors' claims.
• Support the Employer's Representative across delivery of the works.
• Provide contract management support across measure and value, design and build, and other forms of contract.
• Monitor construction activities and provide technical input throughout project delivery.
• Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to deliver the scheme.
