Job Overview
We are seeking a Principal Architect, Enterprise Apps & Integrations, to collaborate closely with clinical, finance, supply chain, customer care, market access, marketing, and HR teams. This role involves maintaining the overall Enterprise Applications architecture, with demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing scalable MuleSoft solutions on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, utilizing CloudHub and Runtime Fabric. The candidate will orchestrate enterprise-level integrations, creating our Integration Playbook and defining scalable processes for existing and new integrations. Over time, they will manage a team of Integration Engineers and Architects.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Integration Strategy & Vision:
- Develop and execute comprehensive integration strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Create long-term roadmaps ensuring technology and business alignment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
- Define and communicate a scalable, reliable, and efficient integration architecture vision.
- Hands-on Technical Leadership:
- Design and implement integrations between SaaS applications (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva, Netsuite), cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), and other cloud services using MuleSoft connectors and APIs.
- Optimize MuleSoft applications for performance and cost in cloud environments.
- Develop integration patterns for connecting APIs and microservices, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Implement API management strategies for security, monitoring, and governance.
- Utilize cloud message queues and event streaming platforms (e.g., AWS SQS) for asynchronous communication.
- Ensure compliance with security and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Maintain GxP compliance per CFR Part 11 and Annex 11.
- Implement API security policies and access controls using MuleSoft API Management.
- Leverage AWS and microservices architectures to modernize integrations.
- Develop reusable assets and templates for cloud integrations.
- Mentor teams on best practices for API integrations, microservices, and cloud solutions.
- Project Management & Reporting:
- Manage integration projects from conception to delivery.
- Provide status updates and cost reports to leadership, with risk mitigation strategies.
- Prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively.
- Best Practices & Continuous Improvement:
- Establish and promote integration standards and best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends.
- Identify opportunities for process and tool enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex challenges.
- Team Leadership & Coaching:
- Lead and mentor the integration team, fostering continuous learning.
- Support career development for team members.
- Promote a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years in enterprise integration, with strong MuleSoft expertise.
- 7+ years designing and implementing MuleSoft integrations.
- 4+ years in senior leadership roles (e.g., Technology Manager, Director).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in cloud technologies, especially AWS.
- Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
- Leadership experience in integration teams and projects.
- Deep understanding of integration tools and frameworks.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across departments and with executives.
- Knowledge of best practices, governance, and enterprise solutions.
- Problem-solving skills with strategic and tactical thinking.
- Familiarity with agile, DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.
