Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Edinburgh is seeking a Staff Analog Engineer to join our team. You will design and verify CMOS major analog blocks for custom ASICs, lead critical blocks from specification to production, and collaborate with both analogue and digital leads to shape system and layout strategies.

The role requires a degree in Electronics/Microelectronics, 8+ years of analog circuit design experience, strong Cadence/EDA tool knowledge, and proven leadership to mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics/Microelectronics Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on analog circuit design experience.
• Experience in designing and verifying blocks such as amplifiers, LDOs, references and PMIC.
• Proven leadership to mentor engineers and deliver chip-level solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and verify CMOS major analog blocks for custom ASICs to meet performance, area, power and timescale constraints.
• Take technical leadership of full-chip or major system blocks from specification to production ramp.
• Collaborate with analogue and digital leads to define system and design strategies and drive layout team.
• Produce high quality documentation for designed circuits.
• Work with DFT engineers to ensure alignment to DFT strategy and implementation.
• Drive silicon debugging and design characterization.
• Translate customer requirements into design specifications and solutions.
• Lead a group of engineers technically to deliver a block on time.
