Job summary

Charles Alan Consulting Ltd is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to help build an enterprise platform for AI and agentic applications within a major financial services organisation. You will engineer a platform supporting the full development lifecycle from idea through production, with AI governance, guardrails, security, testing and observability.

The role focuses on hands-on platform engineering using AWS Bedrock and AgentCore, with strong Python and TypeScript and cloud-native

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Bedrock/AgentCore
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript
• Experience building cloud-native apps on AWS
• Familiarity with AI governance, guardrails and observability
• Experience modernising legacy apps into cloud-native architectures
• Understanding AWS landing zones
• Experience in financial services is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Engineer a platform that enables development and deployment of AI and agentic applications
• Deliver a platform covering idea through production lifecycle with governance, guardrails, security, testing and observability
• Collaborate as an application developer who builds platform capabilities for end-to-end solutions

Job description

We are looking for a Senior AI Platform Engineer to help build a new enterprise platform for developing and running AI and agentic applications within a major financial services organisation.

The platform will support the full development lifecycle from idea through to production, incorporating AI governance, guardrails, security, testing and observability.

The Role

The key requirement is an application developer who can engineer a platform — rather than a traditional infrastructure/platform engineer moving into application development.

You will ideally bring:

• Hands-on Amazon Bedrock / AgentCore experience
• Strong Python and TypeScript
• Experience building applications and services on AWS
• Understanding of agentic AI architectures and AI agents
• Knowledge of AI governance, guardrails and observability
• Experience modernising / re-architecting legacy applications into cloud-native architectures
• Understanding of AWS platform concepts such as landing zones
• Strong software engineering and application-development mindset

Experience within financial services or another highly regulated enterprise would be advantageous.

We are also interested in strong AWS application engineers who may not yet have every AI skill but can demonstrate genuine hands-on experience and initiative in Generative AI and agentic technologies.
