Leonardo UK seeks Senior/Principal Software Engineers with AI/ML interest to join our Electronics UK software community. You will deliver deployable AI/ML software for challenging civilian and military projects, collaborating with systems engineers on research efforts and building scalable pipelines, model deployment, and secure data handling.

The role emphasizes Agile development, experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow, and governance of AI deployments, with hybrid working options and a strong

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Practical experience delivering high-integrity software in a regulated environment.
• Experience on Agile projects across full software life cycle.
• Experience curating datasets, managing embeddings, security and privacy.
• Prompt engineering experience; design, test and improve prompts; assess bias and robustness of outputs.
• Awareness of governance, security and compliance in data management and AI deployment.
• Knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals and HPC/parallel processing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with systems engineers on research projects to deliver deployable AI/ML software.
• Develop software leveraging AI/ML capabilities for civilian and military projects.
• Contribute to scalable pipelines, APIs and AI model deployment.
• Support the overall software community within Electronics UK with high-integrity deliverables.
