Job summary

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for an experienced 1:1 Tutor in Staffordshire, ideally with SEN setting experience. Subjects include Math, English, Science. Sessions run in school daytime hours, within the pupil's home or community in Staffordshire.

The role is a part-time contract starting ASAP, with hours 8am–4pm. Applicants should have QTS or equivalent tutoring experience, the right to work in the UK, and an Enhanced DBS (Update Service).

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service.
• Overseas Police Check (if applicable).
• 2 years of professional references.
• QTS or equivalent Tutoring experience.
• Experience working within a SEN setting (preferred, but not required).

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions in maths, English and science.
• Create and deliver personalised learning plans for each pupil.
• Monitor progress and submit weekly progress reports.
• Adapt teaching to support SEN requirements and engagement.

Further Information

The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and be able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis. A therapeutic approach may also be needed to re-engage students with their learning. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting.

Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports.

Tuition takes place generally in school daytime hours but occasional opportunities after school 3-4pm and evening occur. Sessions can range between 1-4 hours on a daily or weekly basis.
