Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a part-time SEN Tutor to support pupils in Bolton with SEN needs, working in community settings or at home. The role focuses on delivering tailored 1-to-1 sessions during school hours and maintaining regular progress updates.

Ideal candidates have QTS or tutoring experience, a patient approach, and a commitment to helping students re-engage with learning through personalised plans and potential therapeutic strategies. DBS and right to work in the UK required.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring SEN students or in SEN settings is preferred.
• Ability to create and deliver learning plans on a 1-to-1 basis.
• Willingness to use therapeutic approaches to re-engage learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-to-1 SEN tutoring and support within Bolton community or pupils' home.
• Create and deliver personalised learning plans for each pupil.
• Submit weekly progress reports to Prospero to monitor progression.

Job description

Prospero teaching is looking for tutors with experience with SEN students or in an SEN setting in the Bolton Area to provide 1 to 1 support to students with SEN requirements. We are looking for an inspirational and engaging tutor to help support those whose needs may not have been with in the traditional school setting.

The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and be able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1 to 1 basis. A therapeutic approach may also be needed to re-engage students with their learning. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting.

The tuition is replacing school for these young people and is normally part-time, taking place during school hours, five days a week. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports.

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience
• Possess UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupilsTo be eligible for this role, the potential Tutor must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
