Job summary

Justteachers Ltd partners with a welcoming primary school in Wisbech to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting in September.

You will support learning across the primary curriculum, work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, and provide individual and small-group support to pupils needing extra help. A positive, inclusive classroom environment will be fostered, focusing on safeguarding and pupil well-being.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting.
• A good understanding of the primary curriculum is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, positive, and supportive approach.
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• A proactive and flexible attitude towards supporting learning and development.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is advantageous but not essential.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• A genuine passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
• Two recent education-based references.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
• Provide individual and small-group support to pupils who require additional assistance.
• Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources.
• Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Support the delivery of interventions to raise attainment and progress.
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils can access learning opportunities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
• Assist with classroom organisation and the creation of a stimulating learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
