Job summary

Saint Gregory’s RC Primary is seeking a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work 32.5 hours a week during term time. The role is fixed-term until 31 August 2027 and pays Grade 02 SCP 4, with an actual salary of £19,830 (equating to £26,016 FTE).

You will support learning in the classroom, work with individuals and small groups, prepare resources, support safeguarding, and contribute to the Catholic life of the school, including participation in prayer and school events.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s learning and development within the classroom.
• Work with individuals and small groups; reinforce teaching.
• Prepare learning resources and maintain a safe, welcoming classroom.
• Support positive behaviour and relationships; share progress with the class teacher.
• Provide practical and pastoral support; follow safeguarding procedures and maintain confidentiality.
• Support the Catholic life of the school and participate in prayer and school life.
• Undertake 30 minutes of lunchtime supervision daily; contribute to safe, positive play.
• Allocated class may change termly according to school needs.
