Job summary

St Richard’s R.C Primary School is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils under the supervision of teaching staff. The post is 32.5 hours per week, term time (38 weeks per year), temporary until 31 August 2027, with salary band Grade 4 (£19,367–£20,307 per annum; £13.69–£14.36 per hour).

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications.
• GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English.
• Evidence of a commitment to further professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support for Pupils: Establish productive working relationships with pupils, act as a role model, promote inclusion and high expectations.
• Support for the Teacher: Assist in lesson planning, evaluation and adjusting plans, provide feedback and maintain records.
• Support for the Curriculum: Implement learning activities and use ICT to support pupil development.
• Support for the School: Comply with safeguarding, health and safety policies, contribute to school ethos, participate in meetings and training.
• Generic Duties: Understand policies, maintain confidentially, support colleagues and ensure non-discrimination.
