Job summary

Monarch Education in Portishead is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming primary school. You will help deliver engaging lessons, support individual learners, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The role runs term-time only, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a long-term commitment and ongoing consultant support. DBS checks and safeguarding training are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
• Passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, caring and enthusiastic team player.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the classroom.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Encourage pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Support children of varying abilities to access the curriculum.
• Help create a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
• Promote positive behaviour and strong classroom engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
