Job summary

Mendip Green Primary School is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a friendly team and support learning across the school. The role involves classroom and pastoral support to help pupils reach their potential, with responsibilities from lesson delivery to creating a positive learning environment.

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 GCSEs including English and Maths, plus relevant experience in schools or childcare. Term-time hours apply, with 32 hours 30 minutes per week expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 GCSEs (Grade C/Level 4 or above), including English and Maths.
• Experience supporting learning within a school, educational or childcare setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals.
• A caring, patient and empathetic approach to working with children.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons.
• Working with individual pupils, small groups and whole classes.
• Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support.
• Preparing learning resources and educational materials.
• Supporting children with different learning needs and abilities.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers.
• Promoting pupil wellbeing, safeguarding and inclusion.
• Helping to create a safe, stimulating and positive learning environment.
