Job summary

Connex Education is seeking Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support primary schools in Yeovil, Somerset. Immediate start with flexible daily supply options, short-term placements, and longer assignments. Work across different settings to gain classroom experience and develop skills.

You will assist teachers, support individual and group learning, and help create a safe, engaging environment while following school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people is essential.
• Experience in school, childcare, youth work, coaching, tutoring, or care setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation.
• Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
