Job summary

Connex Education is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Yeovil. This temporary role offers flexible day-to-day work and longer placements within primary schools.

You'll work with Class Teachers to support learning, build positive relationships with pupils, and help create an inclusive classroom environment. A Level 2 TA qualification or relevant experience is desirable, with strong communication and safeguarding awareness.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in primary schools is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to adapt to different school environments and year groups.
• Commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within primary classrooms.
• Work alongside class teachers to help pupils engage with their learning.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
• Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
• Adapt confidently to different school settings, year groups, and classroom routines.
• Contribute to the wider school community and work effectively with colleagues.
