Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants for September starts in Gateshead primary schools. You will support class teachers, work with individuals and small groups, and help children develop confidence and a love of learning.

We welcome applicants with experience in schools or childcare, plus a caring, proactive attitude. An Enhanced DBS via Update Service is preferred, or you must be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate has experience with primary-aged children in schools, nurseries or childcare.
• Patient, caring and enthusiastic approach with children.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
• Be proactive, reliable and adaptable in a school setting.
• Passion for supporting children's education is required.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS via Update Service or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Help children develop confidence, independence and love of learning.
• Assist pupils with varying abilities to access the curriculum.
• Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily organisation.
• Encourage positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
