Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking Level 2/3 qualified Teaching Assistants for primary settings across Blackburn. You will support classroom activities, lead small-group reading interventions, and assist with SEN needs while building strong relationships with pupils and staff.

Roles start this September 2026. DBS clearance and CV/Profile support are provided; you will be matched to schools that fit your preferences through Randstad’s placements and app system.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people.
• Classroom management skills.
• Able to engage and motivate children.
• Confidence in guiding individuals or small groups.
• Positive attitude and effective communication skills.
• TA Qualified.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with children individually or in small groups to enhance their learning.
• Serve as a positive role model for students and colleagues.
• Foster relationships with children and their families.
• Assist the class teacher in resource preparation and activity setup.
• Help prepare a lesson and tidy the classroom afterwards.
• Provide assistance with lesson plans.
• Support children across the curriculum.
• Give extra support to children with special needs.
• Report student progress.
• Look after children during school trips and activities.
• Attend meetings.
