Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment Ltd in Aylesbury is seeking a committed Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Buckinghamshire primary school. You will work with individuals and groups, assist with planned activities and help pupils with reading, writing, maths and other curriculum areas, fostering confidence and independence.

The role involves promoting a safe, inclusive classroom and supporting pupils during breaks and school activities.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• Understands the role of a teaching assistant within a classroom environment.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Is patient, reliable and consistent in their approach.
• Can follow teacher direction while also showing initiative when supporting pupils.
• Holds or is willing to obtain the appropriate safeguarding and DBS clearances.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils individually, in small groups and within the classroom.
• Assisting teachers with the delivery of planned learning activities.
• Providing additional support with phonics, reading, writing, maths and other curriculum areas.
• Helping pupils develop independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
• Supporting children who require additional educational or pastoral assistance.
• Monitoring pupil engagement and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
• Supporting pupils during break, lunch and wider school activities where required.
