Job summary

Remedy Education are seeking enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to work across Lewisham’s primary schools. You will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, provide 1:1 and small group support, and assist teachers with routines and activities.

The role suits graduates or those with childcare experience, with opportunities to progress in education. Ideal candidates will have a patient, reliable approach and strong teamwork skills, plus a genuine interest in child development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience in a school, nursery, tutoring, childcare or youth work setting desirable.
• Patient, positive and reliable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils with different learning needs.
• Genuine interest in education and child development.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Work with pupils on 1:1, small group and whole-class basis.
• Assist the class teacher with learning activities and classroom routines.
• Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, phonics and creative learning.
• Help maintain positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
