Job summary

First For Education is seeking a proactive and supportive Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Halesowen, assisting pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2 to engage with learning. This is a full-time, ongoing role, supporting the class teacher throughout the timetable.

The school emphasises inclusive learning and pupil development within a positive environment, offering CPD opportunities and dedicated consultant support during placement.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in a school setting.
• Understanding of the primary curriculum (EYFS, KS1 or KS2).
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Enhanced DBS check on update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom on 1:1 and small group basis.
• Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Encourage pupil engagement and participation.
• Support behaviour management using positive strategies.
• Help create an inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams.
