Teaching Assistant Job Description

The Teaching Assistant will support classroom teachers in delivering the curriculum and provide additional assistance to students in their learning. This role is essential in ensuring students receive the individual attention they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support students during lessons, ensuring understanding and engagement.
2. Work with individual or small groups to reinforce learning and provide extra help.
3. Maintain a positive learning environment by supporting behaviour management.
4. Ensure classroom rules and routines are followed, maintaining safety and respect.
5. Assist students with special educational needs (SEN) or requiring extra help.
6. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
7. Provide feedback to the class teacher regarding students' progress and behaviour.

Key Requirements:

• Experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
• Ability to support diverse learning needs and work well with children.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• Experience as a teaching assistant or similar role is desirable but not essential.
• Possession of an enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to provide references for the past 24 months of employment.
